Acknowledgment of Paternity (AOP)

Acknowledgment of Paternity (AOP) is a legal form in which a man and a mother agree that this man is the genetic father of the mother’s child. Usually, both of them are not married to each other, but they both consent to the identity of the child. Once the procedure is concluded, the genetic father will become the legal parent under the law.

However, there are exceptions around the moment of birth, the moment of marriage and/or the moment of divorce (if any). This can vary under those conditions, and it might be needed for a Denial of Paternity (DOP).(anadir enlace)

This record is a vital document. It determines the identity of the child, and its information is crucial for important documents such as the child’s birth certificate. Also, it is related to the child’s rights, the parent’s rights, as well as all legal duties that come with this change.
