Certificate of No Public Record (CNPR)

A Certificate of No Public Record (CNPR) is a certified document issued by the California Vital Records Office, stating that no record could be located using the information provided on an application.

If you submit an application for a copy of a vital record and no corresponding record can be found, the California Department of Public Health-Vital Records (CDPH-VR) is authorized to keep the payment for the processing fees and issue you a CNPR.
